Massive update on Chris Jericho’s future amid WWE rumors

Rumors of Chris Jericho’s potential return to WWE have been gaining traction. Following Adam Pearce’s tease on his weekly preview of the WWE RAW card, fans expect the former World Heavyweight Champion to return on January 5, edition of the Monday Night Show.

While his comeback could take place tonight, Jericho’s return might not last for long. The reason behind this is that his band, Fozzy, is set to tour the UK from February 6-21. As a result, he will most likely not be making any appearances on WWE television during this time.

Given his schedule, WWE might instead book him for a surprise return at the Royal Rumble at the end of January. He could make a full-time return later at the end of February or Match to build up to WrestleMania 42. However, it is worth noting that his AEW contract expired on December 31 and he is available as a free agent to make appearances in any promotion.

What did Adam Pearce tease about Chris Jericho’s return?

WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce previews the show on his social media accounts every week. Ahead of the highly anticipated January 5, edition of the Monday Night Show, Pearce seemingly teased Chris Jericho’s return when he used “Break down the walls” in his preview.

For those unaware, these are the famous lyrics to Jericho’s previous theme song in WWE. The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer has noted that this was done to generate more hype and to boost ticket sales for the show.

While he had not heard about Jericho certainly making an appearance on January 5, he noted that the legend should make his return by the end of the month. If the company decides to delay his return till the end of January, then the Royal Rumble seems like the most likely show for his comeback.
